Cover of the Spring, 1997 issue of Labor's Heritage, quarterly publication of the George Meany Memorial Archives, showing a painting of a Guatemalan fish seller by Kathleen Farrell, artist and muralist, from a photograph by Milton Rogovin.  Kathleen Farrell is a member of the United Scenic Artists Union, Local 129, whose paintings have been featured in exhibitions at the American Labor Museum, the 1199/SEIU's Bread and Roses Gallery and the Puffin Room Center for the Arts and Activism.  Since 1975, she has directed public art programs in Joliet, Illinois that have created over 80 works of community-based public art.  This issue of Labor's Heritage contains an article about Ms. Farrell and a number of details from her mural, "The Best Hands of the Business," 1995, for the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Crafts.
